About the Band
Friday, 16 February 2007

Twins Tom and Bill Kaulitz performed in shows from a very young age. They later met Georg Listing and Gustav Schaefer and formed a band when they were about 12 years old. From 2001 onwards they played in talent shows and small-time concerts. In 2003 they were approached by Peter Hoffman, a music executive, and signed for a label with Universal Records. At this point, the boys changed their name to "Tokio Hotel"; 'Tokio', for the exciting city in Japan and 'Hotel', due to their constant touring of their country.

They released their debut album "Schrei" in August 2005 and quickly gained popularity in Germany. Tokio Hotel produced "Schrei- Noch Lauter" in 2006, once Bill's voice had fully broken. "Zimmer 483" was released in February 2007. The band are currently working on their new German single, a live DVD and their UK version of "Scream".
