Just read that the radio station CKOI have said that Tokio Hotel are coming back in November on their tour. But will only go to the US not Canada. Nothing is confirmed it's still just a rumor, but now when the radio station has said it feels a bit more true if you get what I mean.
Kate Perry had a concert the 17th September and dedicated her song "Your so gay" to Tokio Hotel..
On September 30th, Bill Kaulitz is moving into the musicians’ ‘apartment’ at Madame Toussauds’ in Berlin!
With their great international success, the band is touring abroad more and more. But never fear, Germany won’t have to make do without lead singer Bill Kaulitz, because he is becoming a citizen of Berlin: as a new ‘roommate’ of Herbert Grönemeyer and Nina Hagen in the musicians’ shared ‘apartment’, the pop star will be there for his fans nine hours per day in the future.
The first people to visit Madame Toussauds’ Berlin on September 30th at 9:30 with a ‘housewarming present’ for Bill will get free admission and be able to witness the revealing of his wax figure.
Ouest-france.fr have written something about Tokio Hotel(in "Read More").
Fan Encounter
From H'deel
Hey:
yesterday night in New Orleans, Louisiana on september 19 at 8 o'clock at night the radio station b97 were making votings against two artists and their new songs. one of them was for Akon (but i forgot which song it was for him), and the other one was to vote for Tokio Hotel for their song 'Monsoon'. My sister (who turned out to be the first caller) called the radio station, and of course voted for Tokio Hotel (i would've voted too but i was doing the darn dishes) so at exactly 8:15 Tokio Hotel were voted the best. We were thrilled, and surprised that they were on our radio station, and that they won.....Oh and by the way we had to be really sneaky about that voting, becuz if we told our parents they would automatically refuse. but our mission got accomplished LOL. that's all i have right now!!
Earlier Market Watch posted that the head of Cherrytree Records, Martin Kierszenbaum, will be the new president of Interscope Records. Kierszenbaum will now be overseeing the label’s pop and rock artists, which include Tokio Hotel.
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept 24, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — Head of Cherrytree Records and President of International Operations for Interscope Geffen A&M will now add the title of President, Pop & Rock A&R, Interscope Records to his duties. In doing so, Kierszenbaum will now oversee the label’s pop and rock roster and A&R staff.
Prior to establishing Cherrytree Records, Kierszenbaum signed the Russian duo t.A.T.u. and British group Keane to Interscope which sold 6 million and 9 million albums world wide respectively.
In 2005, Kierszenbaum launched Cherrytree with the release of Canadian singer-songwriter Feist’s acclaimed album Let It Die. Feist’s second album for the label, 2007’s The Reminder, has been both a critical and commercial hit, earning gold status and four Grammy nominations.
Other notable signings to Cherrytree include Robyn, Tokio Hotel and Lady Gaga.
“Martin is a one-man record label,” unstoppable, and he brings a global musical and business sense to the job,” commented Jimmy Iovine, Chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records. “If he’s not on a plane, he’s in the studio. Or directing a video. Or writing a song, doing a showcase in his office, or playing onstage with Sting. He’s unstoppable, and he brings a global musical and business sense to the job.”
“I’m grateful to Jimmy Iovine,” says Kierszenbaum, “and I’m excited to take on this new role at Interscope where I’ve had the privilege to work with cream-of-the-crop acts as well as the opportunity to develop Cherrytree Records as a comfortable and dynamic environment for trend-setting artists.”
Kierszenbaum began his career in 1988 working in the mailroom at PolyGram Music Group. In 1989, he was hired by Warner Bros. as International Publicist until 1991 when Kierszenbaum moved to A&M Records eventually becoming Vice-President of International and working with such multi-platinum artists as Sting, Sheryl Crow, and Soundgarden. Kierszenbaum joined Interscope Geffen A&M in 1998 to run the International division of the newly created IGA Group.
Kierszenbaum attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He has also earned an M.A. from the Annenberg School for Communication at University of Southern California.
The German band’s success has an influence on the teaching of the language. A teacher from Nantes publishes a dictionary for the fans.
A dictionary French-German for Tokio Hotel fans, how did you think of that?
The initiative was from the ‘Temps’ editions, from Nantes. They had published a book about Harry Potter and they wanted to do the same for Tokio Hotel. They choose me because I had already written a book about Die Prinzen, a pop-rock German band, publish by the ‘Centre de documentation pédagogique des Pays de la Loire’.
With that said, you have been excited by the project…
Yes, because I observed the band’s success by giving lessons to introduce German to students from Nantes. I met a young fifth grader fan who sang me a whole song by heart only by ear. I found that so touching and I wanted to translate the lyrics for her. And for the fans who held signs full of mistakes when the band played at the Zénith, in Nantes, in October 2007.
Do you think Tokio Hotel’s success contributed to making German classes more popular?
I hear colleagues that are glad to use anything that can make the image of German younger. This subject still isn’t that popular in France, so we use this incredible motivation on young French students. Before Tokio Hotel, there were only few words they knew from cinema and TV they could say in the first class of the year. They were Achtung (attention), Papier bitte (papers, please), Hitler. Now, the new generation can say Zimmer (room, grâce because of Tokio Hotel’s Zimmer 483) or Ich bin da (I am here, from the song An deiner Seite, by your side).
Can the phenomenon stay?
(laughs). We are afraid Tokio Hotel won’t last long, like the Spice Girls, but for the moment, we use this generation without complex, born after the fall of the Berlin wall, Tokio Hotel played in Israel without asking questions. In the same themes, the German cinema is getting a little bigger: Goodbye Lenin, The Lives Of Others… The teaching got more modern, it’s cooler, not as focused on grammar.
The four young adults of Tokio Hotel sold 3,5 millions albums, sang in German, in the world in two years. Their next album should be out in November of 2008é
‘Dico Fan Tokio Hotel’, French-German, ‘Temps’ editions, 126 pages, 9,50 €. Kind of playful, it holds vocabulary from the songs and the universe of the band, grammar games…
