Top 10 Worst Music Videos of 2008
Monsoon - number 4
First off, this is the worst band of 2008. If I caught my kids watching this video I would lock them in the closet and force them to listen to Slayer’s Reign In Blood on repeat until they came to their senses. Hasn’t Germany already done enough damage?
Seeing these horrible German poppers do one of their unbearable pop/rock numbers during a wacky wet thunder storm should be added as a new torture technique at the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay. I absolutely guarantee this will get a terrorist to squeal. Puke.

Tokio Hotel had a big year in 2008, and the "Monsoon" that the band caused left them with an MTV Music Video Award and cemented them as a certified underground force in music. While not certifiable pop stars their brand of pop and rock gave the German band worldwide success.
The band recently returned home and Bill and Tom Kaulitz talked about how they spend their Christmas.
Tokio Hotel Talks About Christmas Plans 08
[Bill] "Every year we have two weeks off and then we travel to... Tom and me, we always travel always to little islands but most of the time New Year's we're not at home. We're somewhere else just chilling at the beach. Christmas we are all at our families together and celebrate and meet friends." [Tom] "But the plan is to... I think we fly back to Germany and we go into the studio and write songs, record songs..." [Bill] "...and Christmas just chilling with our loved ones..." [Tom] "...and after Christmas we go right back into the studio."
Tokio Hotel recently released a DVD titled Tokio Hotel TV, which chronicles their life on stage and behind-the-scenes. A deluxe edition of the set contains a second disc entitled Future - The Road To The New Album, and it features footage of the band on promotion tours and preparing for their third studio album. The band hopes to finish the new album by summer of 2009.
Owngig:

We would like a gig for UK fans, so lets tell them! We know there's a good chance this will lead to nothing, BUT what we want is the relevant people in the TH camp contacted to remind them that we STILL want Tokio Hotel in the UK! If they can organise a gig at the same time, all the better!
Please sign-up!
Remember to only sign-up if you would definitely go. And only bid the amount you would definitely pay!

Poll
On the Teen Magazine's website you can find a new poll, this time about Tokio Hotel!
Go to the site and test your knowledge about the band!
MTV Portugal has announced its favourite concerts of 2008, but didn't elect Tokio Hotel as one of them.
Now, it was the fans turn to choose "The Best of 2008" ("Os Melhores de 2008") and they did it! Tokio Hotel were nominated as "Best International Concert", for their two concerts in Lisbon @ Rock in Rio festival and @ Pavilhao Atlantico (venue).
Raphsody.com as posted a list with the "Gods of Guyliner" and Bill is in it!
«Bill Kaulitz, Tokio Hotel
Look at those cheekbones! If he gets any prettier he could endorse Estee Lauder. This look says, "My mom put me in band classes so I would stop playing with her vanity case." Verdict: The glossy streaks of liner offset his hair's diameter with mathematical precision. Thumbs up.»
In November we told you about the first edition of the Portrait Choice Awards by Portrait Magazine.
As you know, Tokio Hotel was nominated in several categories. Well, once again the fans proved their strenght and the boys won all the categories they were nominated:
Coolest Newcomer: Tokio Hotel
If our 2008 Top 30 Under 30 Poll was any indication, you guys LOVE Tokio Hotel, alternating between first and second place during the many weeks of voting, the guys of Tokio Hotel may have ended up second place in the end, but this time around all you Tokio Hotel fans came back with a vengeance, determined that the guys win our Coolest Newcomer category and that they did! 2008 rocketed Tokio Hotel into stardom. These German rockers had fans screaming all around the world and were certainly a Portrait fave when they took out the number two spot in our annual Top 30 Under 30 Poll in 2008. So really it’s no surprise that these guys won over 50% of the 12 000+ votes in our Album of the Year category

Once again beating out the second place Jonas Brothers, Bill and Tom Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel have taken out yet another category in this year’s Portrait Choice Awards. These crazy haired German rocker twin brothers won with 59% of the 13 000+ votes!

Tokio Hotel fans were certainly on a rampage! With the amount of time and dedication that surely must have gone into the production and maintenance of this informative and detailed site, it’s not hard to see that is an award well-deserved!

4. I don't think anybody really knew the mega status of Tokio Hotel until they stopped by MOD the first time (of two).

TH in the New York Post
The New York Post has posted an article featuring their favorite five new artists of 2008, and TH are on the list! Read the Tokio Hotel excerpt bellow.
«FIVE GOLDEN SINGS
Notebook's Favorite Newbies '08
Young girls have always loved a good boy band. But the days of matching outfits and coordinated dance moves are over, judging by the German pop-rock quartet's success this year.
Fronted by 19-year-old twin brothers, the chart-topping, multiplatinum "teenie" band - as they're known in their native land - invaded our shores in May with their US debut, "Scream." Which is pretty much exactly what Goth-lite teen girls (and their younger sisters) did nonstop at all four of their New York shows.
Whether due to the appeal of androgynous frontman Bill Kaulitz's porcupine-like hairdo or the band's politely rockin' tunes, they managed to snag the viewer-awarded best new artist title at this year's MTV Video Music Awards - beating out heavyweights like Katy Perry, Jordin Sparks, Taylor Swift and tween queen Miley Cyrus. Seriously.

A reader’s poll on Ultimate-Guitar.com says that Tokio Hotel is the 5th worst band in the world. They say the reasons are Bill’s hair and their screaming teen girl fanbase.
Here's what they wrote about TH:
«For those living in the United States, the force of nature that is Tokio Hotel hasn’t perhaps been fully understood. But you only need visit Sweden or Italy to witness the Backstreet Boys-meets-glam-rock hysteria existing among the kids overseas these days. It seems those of you who are extremely familiar with the Tokio Hotel rage are pretty damn disgusted.
Whether it’s because of vocalist Bill Kaulitz’s cartoonishly punk hairdo (which seems to not fit his musical style in any manner) or just the fact that screaming teen girls do tend to make up a good chunk of the band’s core fan base, there are quite a few reasons that might push Tokio Hotel to the #1 slot in a few years’ time.»
