Tokio Bill writes a new song almost every day
The frontman of Germany’s most successful band at the moment began to work on a new Tokio Hotel album after his vocal chord operation.
The period before and after his vocal chord operation was one of the most difficult times of his life for the Tokio Hotel singer Bill (18).
Yet now, after he’s gotten over it all well, it appears that the medically prescribed silence has also done some good. Since then, Bill’s been writing up new songs almost every day. “At the moment Bill comes to me continuously with new song ideas,” explains the band manager David Jost. Above all, the many travels (USA, France, Spain) seem to inspire him. “If you’re out and about, you generally don’t write songs completely to the end, but it produces many ideas. You then have to really devote yourself to a feeling like that when it comes about,” tells Jost.
Bill types his lines onto hotel receipts, into the mobile or into the laptop, then. Loads of stuff for the third and newest album has already come together. And one thing is certain – Bill’s carrying on singing in German! This is no problem for the fans abroad, tells Jost: “That mainly comes from the fact that the fans want to get as close as possible to Bill’s identity. Because of this, they want to understand the lyrics in German and would therefore prefer to hear Bill in his mother tongue at concerts.”
It’s still not certain when the new album will be produced, though.
The ‘Rock in Rio’ festival in Madrid has attracted fewer visitors than expected, despite appearance of big stars at the event.
The German teen band Tokio Hotel expected around 50,000 fans in the early hours of Sunday. According to details in the newspaper "El País", the reality was only half as much as the organisers had hoped for. There were only 40,000 visitors at the old rocker Neil Young’s performance the previous evening.
Next weekend at the Open-Air-Festival; Amy Winehouse, The Police, Bob Dylan and Lenny Kravitz are on the program, along with other appearances.
The rock festival born in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil was moved from ‘Sugar Cone’ to Lisbon in 2004. This year, for the first time, there are two venues – one in the Portuguese capital city, and the second in Madrid.

Tokio Hotel at Rock in Rio: “Super feedback in Spain”
The first ‘Rock in Rio’ festival in Madrid is over. The absolute highlights besides the Spanish rock band El Canto del Loco belonged to the German megastars Tokio Hotel.
The Spanish fans had prepared themselves well for the concert and painted their messages to Tom, Bill, Georg and Gustav in perfect German on enormous banners. As well as “Tokio Hotel for ever,” or “Bill – we love you,” there was also an aggravating “Tom, fuck your guitar,” to read…
The Spanish press pounced on the Germans like their fans as well, and afterwards remarked, already impressed, that “Closely considered, the boys are much more interesting – particularly the lead singer Bill.”
And so, the four appear impressed by the many fans. After all, the band had to cancel the only concert in Madrid at the beginning of the year, when Bill was being operated on his vocal chords.
On Saturday, Tokio Hotel stuck to that promise and the concert made up for it. Bill, as ever with tons of hairspray and painted nails in the style of a ‘French manicure’, was pleased about the fans: “We find it cool, how we’ve been received in Spain. The feedback is absolutely super.”
Now the fans are waiting for further appearances of their favourite band in Spain. Maybe the boys will come back again?
What do you think about the differences in this media reaction?
*Live Daily have noticed Tokio Hotel's new itinerary for America. They say TH have struggled to win back success after Bill's operation, but we know that's not true, right?!

We will be putting five episodes of the MTV Diary online - every day a new episode. At the end of the week you can win the brand new TH picture book!
On their giant success story through America, Tokio Hotel was of course followed by cameras. Sure, it doesn’t happen that often that a German band has as many fans there in the US like here by us in Germany.
Even if us fans from the first minute were a little afraid of if the boys can really take the great success while we are sad because they are so much overseas – we are still proud of Tokio Hotel.
Now Viva.tv has prepared five episodes of MTV Diary which was filmed in the US for you.
From Monday till Friday we will show you one episode. Keep watching as it will pay off twice, because at the end of the week, we will give away freshly printed copies of their new TH picture book “Ein Tsunami”!
From Bild.de
Saturday night in Paris. Point 20.30 pm Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg from “Tokio Hotel” storm the stage accompanied by lots of fireworks in the “Parc des Princes” stadium. 30.000, nearly all female fans totally freak out; screeching their souls out of their body, screaming in German: “Bill, I want a child for you”. Complete “Tokio Hotel” alarm in the French capital. BILD.de has exclusive pictures and footage of the amazing gig.
The special thing about this concert: “Tokio Hotel” sings all the songs in German. Thousands of French fans wrote in to the record company and media that they really want to hear the four boys sing in German. Tom tells BILD.de with a grin: “There were also angry letters from parents that had protested to the French record company, because their children have dropped English in school to take German class instead.”
90 minutes the four Magdeburgers rocked Paris, many fans singing along to all the words. Gustav about the mega performance to BILD.de: “It’s awesome to stand in front of such a mass of fans.” Bill goes on: “When such a whole stadium sings along to all of your songs, you certainly get goosebumps.”
The next Tokio Hotel concert will be on the 6th of July in Rome.

Quotes and interviews:
Translated by Narin @ tokiohotel.org.uk:
Do you actually know Tokio Hotel?
Nick: “Of course, the boys are cool and have loads of fans in America too! We even have their CDs!”
Meaning, you’ll soon appear in Europe as TH’s opening act, and then they’ll return the favour for you in the USA?
Joe: “We don’t know anything about that. But the idea’s not bad. Who knows…”
Kevin: “It’s cool that there are also brothers there as well. People don’t often believe us that we’re really related!”
This is claiming that the Bravo rumour about Tokio Hotel touring with the Jonas Brothers is simply just a rumour!
Bill (Tokio Hotel) – “As children my twin brother Tom and I looked more or less similar. Now if I look at photos from that time, I myself don’t know which one I am from us both.”
My operation changed a lot in my thoughts. Till then it was totally normal for me to sing. Now I know what kind of a gift it is. For this gift I am extremely thankful.

Interview
Click "Read More" below to read an interview with Tom form the Olivia magazine (Tokio Hotel America).
We'd like to apologize for reporting wrongly the figures for Park Des Princes yesterday. However, we are only quoting from the press and do not take back anything that was written. I'd like to point out that the aim of this fansite is to provide news; not just favourable, praising news, but REAL news; things that are going around. And on a slow news day, the press only provide us with sensationalism. So please be supportive and bear with us until something exciting comes along.
We'd like to come back at Jackie: yes, it was a rubbishy update. But don't judge on simply one of them. And no, we don't want to "bring the boys down" or anything of the sort; this site is here to provide the fans with all news and related items that are reported. I'm sure you'll agree with me that it's hard to be supportive when there's so much bad press and it makes our job more difficult.
That said, look forward to next month when we have an exciting competition to launch and many other fabulous features! (Sorry this month's been so bad).

For twentysomething Germans, the love might not extend past the Hoff.
Three friends from Hamburg recently came to New York for a visit. (Lovely bunch of people. Very open-minded, always up for anything.) One night during dinner — and somewhat out of the blue — their chief pop-culture export of the moment came up: Tokio Hotel.
On this side of the Atlantic, the boy band has been gathering both
buzz and rabid, tween young fans. (Hey, we already apologized for that one!) But my friends aren’t buying into the hair, the eyeliner or the hype.
Words like “embarrassment” and “lame” were thrown around a lot. One woman said Tokio Hotel only appeal to “kids and teenagers between 6 and 12 years old” or those “too young to realize what kind of stupid phonies these boys are.” My guy friend begged Americans like myself to “take them off our hands.” He added, simply, “They suck.”
I’ll be the first to admit this was not exactly a scientific poll, though they could represent a bigger backlash to come. Is this band just part of a prepubescent phase, or are fans onto something big?
